‘Drawers’ (2011) mdf, white wall
Four drawers are situated in and through a wall. Only one side at a time can be perceived. When the drawers are closed on one side they open on the other and vice versa. This piece of furniture is always open and closed at the same time, it is therefor always active, claiming and proposing space.
When pushing the drawers towards the other space, one can only imagine the 'effect' that it causes. It is like a blind observation of the other side, not knowing if it pleases, surprises or bothers somebody. These drawers are made both for the experience of interacting with them and others, as well as for the practical use gaining and claiming space when it is needed.
